Train In Vain (isolated drums)

Happy birthday Topper!!

Why do all these Beatles fans say they wish they were born in the sixties? Do they want John Lennon to hold up their infant selves like Rafiki holds up baby Simba in The Lion King? I don’t get it.

Your day breaks, your mind aches,

You find that all her words of kindness linger on,

When she no longer needs you.

27.

My url is from two David Bowie songs—Moonage Daydream and Lady Grinning Soul. “Daydream grinning’ sort of sounded cool, so I decided I’d use it.

43.

It takes a horridly long time for me to get ready in the morning. To get my shower and make my hair vaguely presentable, it takes about an hour. Then I have to do makeup, which is a bit of a challenge, since I have these genetically permanent dark circles under my eyes and I generally dislike appearing as if I’ve been punched in both eye sockets. (My efforts are normally rather futile. Oh, well.) Choosing clothing is a bit silly. I spend tons of time trying on all the clothes in my closet and discarding most of them on the floor, before finding something sufficiently fancy and kooky.

And you know what happens then? I don’t even leave the house for the whole day. All that effort, and the only living things around to appreciate it are my cats.

34.

My relationship with my parents is a fairly smooth one, but it’s mostly because I’ve changed this past year. Apparently, since I have turned eighteen and am no longer in high school, they no longer see me as a child who needs discipline, which is nice after all this time. But mostly, I’ve just matured. I know that my parents are humans, and that I cannot necessarily trust them with everything. My dad’s cool with my lack of religion, but I know that I can’t bring it up in front of my mom. And that’s okay. Because I know my mom won’t really remember our disagreement unless I remind her. There were other conflicts in regards to my college decisions this past year, but we were able to sort it out. At the moment, things are going smoothly, and I’m happy.
